THE RETREAT

Strengthen, stretch, sip and slow down

Strengthen, stretch, sip and slow down in the beautiful Cape Winelands. Gather with us in the heavenly mountains of Stellenbosch for four nights of yoga, breathwork and meditation woven together with exceptional wine, seasonal cuisine, art, culture and nature.

Begin each day with movement and mountain views, then spend your time exploring vineyards, discovering local treasures or unwinding by the pool beneath the African sun. Sip South African wines with their makers, savour long lunches under ancient oak trees and embrace the slower rhythm of Winelands living.

Surrounded by mountains, birdsong and blue skies, this retreat is an invitation to reconnect with yourself through movement, nourishment, pleasure and presence.

4 nights, unhurried

Wine tasting and aroma training with Pour Decisions
DAY 1

Arrive & unwind

Check in and settle into your suite, wander the grounds, then gather for a gentle yoga practice as the light softens. A wine tasting and paired meal hosted by Pour Decisions will offer a beautiful introduction to the South African wine and vineyards you’ll enjoy throughout the rest of the retreat.

DAY 2

Movement & mountains

Begin the first full day with an energising morning yoga flow and meditative mountain views. After enjoying a slow hearty breakfast, we will take a scenic vineyard route by foot or car (as you prefer) to visit one or two of our favourite Stellenbosch wine farms to taste the nectar at source. Then, after some free time to relax, we will congregate for a family-style South African dinner together.

DAY 3

Culture & cuisine

Day three will be a celebration of Cape culture and cuisine. We will weave art, food and more exceptional wine into our daily movement and wellness practices. After a walking tour of the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden, we will enjoy a light vineyard lunch and free afternoon to explore, read, swim, nap or book a massage treatment. As the sun sets, we will congregate again for a restorative evening practice and another traditional South African meal.

DAY 4

Slow living & long lunches

A slow morning of movement, meditation, breakfast and free time will evolve into a long farm-to-table lunch at another one of our favourite wine farms. Our final full day will close with a relaxing return to the yoga shala for a restorative practice and a nourishing meal—the kind you do not want to end.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

All of the practices (yoga, breathwork and meditation) are suitable for every level. Morning practices are dynamic but accessible, evenings are slower and restorative, and everything can be adapted to where you are. If you have any movement limitations or injuries, the yoga teacher can offer modifications, as long as you have approval to practise yoga from a medical professional. If you are pregnant or become pregnant before the retreat, the yoga teacher can support you with prenatal modifications, but please check with your medical practitioner for approval before beginning a physical yoga practice.

Not at all—that is our job. Our tastings are relaxed and led by local winemakers who love to teach and share their passion. There is no jargon, no wine knowledge needed, no tests and nothing to prove. Just come with curiosity, then sip, savour and enjoy.

Three meals a day are included. They will be seasonal, healthy and full of South African heart, which does tend to include meat and fish. That said, we can tailor meals to most dietary requirements, including vegetarian and pescatarian, as well as most allergies and intolerances. Please let us know when you book, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Absolutely; many guests do. You will be among a small, warm group, with as much shared time or quiet space as you like. If you are travelling alone and would prefer to share a room, we will do our very best to find a roommate for you, so please do not let that stop you from asking or enquiring.

All yoga levels are welcome, whether you are brand new to it or practise daily. You can come solo, with a partner or with friends. Travelling with a yoga group is one of the best ways to explore new places in a way that balances health and adventure, without the headache or stress of planning your logistics and itinerary.

The group size can be anything from 10 to 18 people depending on how the rooms are configured based on bookings. In general, the maximum group size will be 18 people.

If you have a friend or partner who wants to join you but does not want to practise, they are welcome to come. There are lots of other activities for them to enjoy and spaces for them to relax while the rest of the group is practising.

This is a yoga and wine retreat, so naturally there will be opportunities to enjoy wine at dinner and at the wine farms we visit. If you want more beyond what is supplied, you are welcome to purchase it at your own cost. In the evenings, when we dine at the guesthouse, we will have selected beer, cider and soft drinks for anyone who does not want wine with their meal.

The five-day itinerary is illustrative and subject to slight changes, but there will be movement, mindfulness and at least one daily excursion on each full day. Everything is optional, so you can join or skip as much as you like—this is your holiday.

Aside from the daily yoga and day trips, you can enjoy the swimming pool and extensive gardens at the property. You will also have the opportunity to explore Stellenbosch and the surroundings on your doorstep, including restaurants, wine farms and hiking trails.

It may be possible for you to extend your stay at the venue, so please ask us if you would like to. If that is not possible, we would be happy to recommend somewhere nearby.

At mealtimes, there is a small selection of alcohol available, including selected beers and conservation wines. There is also a selection of healthy non-alcoholic options, including juices and kombuchas.
